SUNO among HBCU recipients of Capital One's The Match: Champions for Change

New Orleans, Louisiana – November 24, 2020 New Orleans native and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning will be joined by other sports icons, PGA golfer Phil Mickelson, Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in the Capital One’s The Match: Champions for Change in an exhibition golf match on Friday, November 27th at the Stone Canyon Golf Club in Oro Valley, Ariz.


The event aims to spotlight diversity in sports through donations to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (#HBCUs). Southern University at New Orleans (#SUNO) is especially excited to be one of the HBCU’s that Peyton Manning has chosen to represent in the event.


This live event coverage will be available on TNT at 3:00 p.m. EST with other events starting at 1:00 p.m. EST. TNT will also televise “The Match Pre-Match Show” Presented by Autotrader featuring interviews with Southern University at New Orleans, Interim Chancellor Dr. James H. Ammons, Jr. and student representative, Miss SUNO, Brianne Nelson leading up to the event at 2 p.m. EST.


The final donation amount given to (SUNO) will be announced on Monday, November 30th.
