Mr. Gerald Hector welcomes Ms. Ericka Dunlap to #ItsEasySon

Ericka Dunlap is an Orlando native, devoted daughter, mother to one daughter, Mikelle Antoinette,

philanthropist, businesswoman, and serial entrepreneur who graduated from William R. Boone High School in 2000. She then rose to national acclaim during her junior year at the University of Central Florida, when she became the first Black woman to be crowned Miss Florida 2003 in the 100-year history of the program. Later that year, she became the seventh Black woman to win the national title, cementing her legacy as Miss America 2004.



She has delivered over 400 Keynote Addresses and sang the National Anthem over 1,000 times for the NFL, MLB, NBA and for military instillations across the globe. Upon completion of her year of service to the Miss America Organization, Dunlap earned her B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from UCF and made a move to Nashville, TN to pursue a career as a country music recording artist; before Beyoncé. With seven years of songwriting and live performance under her belt, as well as ownership in a joint venture record label, Dunlap departed from Nashville and returned to Orlando to fortify her roots in her hometown.


In television, Dunlap is internationally known for her steadfast effort on Season 15 of the Emmy Award Winning Show - The Amazing Race. She and her partner made it through nine countries and 10,000 miles in 28 days of arduous globetrotting, finishing as third place Finalists.

She founded Crown Communication Group, LLC in 2014 as a boutique Public Relations Firm specializing in curated experiences, strategic communications, and value-add opportunities for clients.


In addition to her business, Dunlap serves as Board Chair for the Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation, Executive Chair for the Advent Health Foundation Golden Gala, Chair of the Mercy Road Single Mom Summit, and Esteemed Board Member of the Winter Park Institute.
