Dr. Barbara L. Peacock is the author of the award-winning book, Soul Care In African American Practice, Psalm 119 Scriptural Journal and leading author of C.A.L.L.E.D. To Teach (Commissioned As Leaders, Learners, Educators and Disciples). She is passionate about the disciplines of prayer, spiritual direction (soul care), teaching, and ministering in various capacities. Dr. Peacock is the founder Barbara L. Peacock Ministries and Peacock Soul Care; an Institute of Spiritual Direction, Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. She previously served on staff as Minister of Discipleship and Prayer at The Park Church, Charlotte, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC; her Master of Arts Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey; and her Doctorate of Ministry degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA. Her doctoral focus was Spiritual Formation for Ministry Leaders.
As a favorite way to be refreshed and restored, Dr. Peacock enjoys being with her family, traveling, reading, writing and gardening (plants). Dr. Peacock has been married to her husband Gilbert, for 44 years. They are the owners of Freedom Financial Advantage, LLC, which provides financial assistance to numerous organizations, churches and individuals.
