UNCF/KOCH SCHOLARS PROGRAM

UNCF/Koch Scholars Program hosted its 2017 summit, an annual conference designed to bring together undergraduate African American students for three days of experiential learning, mentorship, and the chance to hear from exemplars in the community who have overcome obstacles in their own lives. More than 150 scholars from colleges and universities across the country heared from featured keynote speakers including author Paul C. Brunson, noted educator Dr. Steve Perry, UNCF president and CEO Dr. Michael Lomax, and Charles Koch Foundation vice chairman Dr. Richard Fink. Scholars also engaged in a Q&A session with Koch Industries, Inc. chairman and CEO, Mr. Charles G. Koch.   The UNCF/Koch Scholars program is a partnership with Koch Industries, Inc., the Charles KochFoundation and UNCF. The $25 million initiative offers scholarships and academic support to undergraduate, doctorate, and post-doctoral students interested in how principled entrepreneurship, economics, and innovation contribute to well-being for individuals, communities and society.   During the summit, scholars participated in seminars on a variety of topics including overcoming obstacles while creating value as an entrepreneur.
